Free Cavity Wall Insulation and Loft Insulation Government Grants are still available in Bristol, Bath, Gloucester, Taunton and throughout the South West.

And they are not repayable.

IT’S ALL CHANGE AGAIN!

The Government Home Insulation Grant Scheme has changed again for Cavity Wall Insulation (17/9/18), and in some ways it is an improvement over the old scheme, but other aspects have got a whole lot worse.

The Standard Home Insulation Grant that everyone qualified for (even Richard Branson) has been withdrawn.

The Enhanced Home Insulation Grant – which you have to qualify for, has been broadened so many people who did not qualify for this grant in the past will now qualify.

CAVITY WALL INSULATION

Cavity Wall Insulation is in 90% of cases free and the quality control aspects have improved massively.  Click here to find out more about the free Government Grants for Cavity Wall Insulation.

Loft Insulation is unlikely to be free. To get all the facts and figures Click here to get the full story about the new Loft Insulation Goverment Grant scheme.

THE GREEN DEAL – AN UPDATE!

The Green Deal was actually a finance mechanism, so that energy efficiency improvements could be made to your home. This was done through a loan and the loan was then repaid, with interest, through your electricity bill.

The idea was that Energy companies, DIY companies and the like, would invest money into the “Green Deal Finance Company”. But this did not happen, and the Coalition Government funded it.

When the Conservatives came to power in May 2015, they said they would not invest any more money into the scheme. So, the Green Deal still existed, but in practice was unable to operate.

The Green Deal Finance Company was purchased in January 2017 by a private consortium and it should be offering Green Deal Loans through the scheme in the near future. We will keep you updated.
